Full-day weddings

From the kitchen to the dance floor

I arrive while the kettle is on and leave once the dancing has properly begun. One photographer, in the room all day, working quietly.

  • Getting ready, the ceremony, the beach or garden, the speeches and the first dances

  • Travel anywhere in Northumberland and the Borders
  • Fully insured, with a plain contract before you pay anything

Full-day wedding photography, from £1,950

About 25 of these a year is the right number. Any more and someone would get a tired version of me.

Half days and elopements

Built for a small wedding on the coast

Up to six hours covers a late-morning ceremony and the afternoon that follows it. An elopement is shorter again: the two of you, whoever you bring, and the beach.

  • Up to six hours, timed around your ceremony rather than the clock
  • Elopements cover the ceremony and the hour or two around it
  • Your online gallery within six weeks, as high-resolution files
  • Travel anywhere in Northumberland and the Borders

Up to six hours, from £1,450. Elopements, from £850.

Six people on a beach at Alnmouth is one of my favourite ways to spend a Thursday.

Pre-wedding shoots

An hour on the sand before the day

We meet on a beach between Alnmouth and Bamburgh an hour or so before the light goes, and walk. You get used to me being about, and I learn how the two of you are together. By the wedding, the camera is old news.

You receive a small gallery of the walk within six weeks. I haven't put a set price on these yet, so ask when you check your date and I'll give you the figure in writing before you decide.

Nobody has ever stayed awkward past the first ten minutes. The wind sees to that.

Family sessions on the coast

An hour on the beach, no lining up

Bamburgh, Alnmouth or any beach between. Children run, dogs come, and your online gallery arrives within six weeks.

Albums and prints

The day, in order, on a kitchen table

Linen-bound albums laid out the way the day ran, and prints from any wedding or session. Prices depend on size and pages, so I send the list rather than guess here.

Ask for the album list when you check your date.

The small print

The small print, in plain words

Is there a travel charge for far-flung places?
Not within Northumberland or the Borders. A farm above Rothbury, a hall near Kelso and a beach at Bamburgh all cost the same. Further afield, I'll tell you the travel cost before you book, never after.
What if it rains, or blows a gale?
We go out anyway, for as long as you're enjoying it. Wind is the best thing that can happen to a wedding photograph. If it's genuinely unsafe on the sand, we use porches, doorways and windows, and the pictures are no worse for it.
Why only around 25 weddings a year?
Because every gallery is edited by me, in order, and I want to be properly glad to see you on the morning. Twenty-five keeps the six-week promise honest and keeps me fresh.
How do booking and payment work?
Check your date, and if it's free I send a short contract with every figure written in it. A booking payment holds the day; the rest is due before the wedding. Nothing is added later.
Are you insured?
Fully, and I can send the paperwork to your venue if they ask for it.

The price suits? Check your date.

Three fields, no more. I look in the diary and reply myself, usually the same working day.
